Elgin's Wedding Walk, "Ring Around Elgin," Spring 2019

Updated: May 11, 2021

Elgin Convention and Visitor's Bureau organized a first for the Elgin area this Spring, with an area wide Wedding and Event Venue Open House, "Ring Around Elgin." With more than 15 venues participating, both small and large, from Elgin and surrounding communities, the more than 200 attendees enjoyed visiting each one at their own pace. Not only could they view each venue and see it's amenities, but every venue also included area vendors to showcase their business, as well.

We were thrilled with the opportunity to open our doors to guests, where they tasted delicious desserts by Delish Cakes, had the opportunity to see one of our favorite stationary calligraphers, Medbh Huschitt, owner at The Paperie Co Calligraphy and Stationery, and view samples of her work on our chalkboards and mirrors, as well as placecards, and enjoyed delicious charcuterie from Fox and Company.

The Loft was sweetly touch with floral design by Branching Out - Chicago, who not only styled a beautiful tablescape using our geometric vial vases filled with Gerbera daisies, but created a simple mantel design using vintage apothecary bottles filled with daisies, as well. We wanted to use create the feeling of Spring, after our difficult and freezing winter in Chicagoland! And, we almost made it through the day without snow....but, it arrived just as we were finishing the Open House!

Complete Bridal - Bridal Boys chose to displayed a seated mannequin on one of our vintage settees, who wore a blush ball gown style wedding dress, which was covered in lace and pearls!

Capturing all the details for our Venue was Stephanie, owner at Shutterwinks Photography. We are so glad to have beautiful photos to share on Social Media, and our website.

Let's back up a minute though, and describe just what a Wedding Walk is about. Offering guests the opportunity to tour numerous venues, ask questions, taste delicious bites shared by numerous catering companies, view various shapes and styles of wedding cakes and mini desserts by area bakeries, visit with florists about their floral design, and see what a fully styled venue looks like on wedding or event day, a Wedding Walk is one of the most exciting ways to include your Mom, your significant other, or your best friends, spending an afternoon enjoying scenic Elgin and all it offers in dining, entertainment, the Arts, cafes, antiques, the Fox River, and a numerous beautiful wedding and special event venues!

Because the first Wedding Walk was such a success, you'll find details below on the upcoming Fall "Ring Around Elgin," scheduled for October 9, 2019, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Registration link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ring-around-elgin-autumn-wedding-walk-tickets-65578000565
